FaZe have picked up their second victory at IEM Sydney after edging past North 19-16 on Cache.
The match began with a fast A execution from FaZe, with Håvard "rain" Nygaard opening up the site with two entry frags. The European mixture followed that up with both anti-ecos to bring the scoreline to a 3-0 advantage, but the first gun round went North's way thanks to a trio of kills from Philip "aizy" Aistrup in the A site.
North went on to win the next two rounds, the second of which with a 1v2 clutch from Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke, taking advantage of a huge misplay from FaZe. The Danes' double AWP setup was proving very effective, but then they were caught off-guard by a force buy from FaZe. That was the start of a great run from the Terrorists, who would close out the half with a commanding 11-4 lead.
FaZe are now 2-1 in Sydney
The Danish team came back into the game looking very lively and showed their prowess as Terrorists by taking the first four rounds of the half. In an eco round, FaZe were able to bring North's streak to an end, with the European mixture adding two more rounds to their tally to secure a 14-8 lead.
After dropping the next three rounds, FaZe hit match point at 15-11, but they were unable to close out the game as North strung four rounds together to tie the game at 15-15. In overtime, North drew first blood, but then FaZe swept past their opponents, winning four rounds in a row to lock down the map, 19-16.
